Destinee and Cory Steinke

LEXINGTON -- Destinee West and Cory Steinke, both of Holdrege, were united in marriage Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at the First Christian Church in Lexington with the Rev. KC BeDunnah officiating.

Parents of the couple are Taun and Charlene West of Lexington and Roger and Kathy Steinke of Olpe, Kan.

Grandparents of the couple are Maxine Misterek and Lee and Darlene Misterek, all of Elwood, Jim West of Gothenburg, the late Doris West, Bill and Mary Steele of Atwood, Esther Steinke of McCook and the late Harry Steinke.

The bride wore an ivory, satin strapless gown beaded at the top. The ball style gown was softly gathered from side to side to be caught with a floral adornment, which was highlighted with tiny crystals. The side gathering dropped into a soft, beaded drape. A lace-up back corset type closure added interest to the gown, which ended in a jeweled semi-cathedral train. The veil was a fingertip two-tiered ivory veil with satin ribbon and pearl edging. The bride carried an arm bouquet of 16 calla lilies.

Jessica West of Lexington, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Angela Garcia of Cozad, Shayna Fruit, cousin of the bride, of Kearney and April Engleman of North Platte.

The bridesmaids wore floor-length, desert indigo ball gown style dresses with an ivory pearl strap. They carried arm bouquets of two long-stemmed calla lilies.

Scott Steinke of Olpe, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. Bridegroomsmen were Doug Steinke of Grand Island, cousin of the bridegroom, and BJ Heins and Ryan Schmidt, both of Olpe.

The bridegroom and bridegroomsmen wore black, double-breasted tuxedos with black and silver vests, black neckties and boutonnieres made of small calla lilies.

The flowergirl was Mersades Wisner, daughter of the bride. She wore an ivory, floor-length dress that gathered from side to side. It was tied in the back with ivory ribbon. The ringbearer was Blake Steinke of Grand Island, cousin of the bridegroom.

Ushers were Cody Stagemeyer of North Platte, cousin of the bride, Steve Peterson of Seward, Mark Lauby of Lincoln and Eric Hendrickson of Lexington. Cody Stagemeyer and Steve Peterson also served as candlelighters.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Eric Sanger and soloist Heath Cunningham, both of Lexington. The bride's personal attendant was Crystal Steinke of Emporia, Kan., sister of the bridegroom.

Host couple were Scott and Kris Huftle of Holdrege, uncle and aunt of the bride. Guestbook attendant and gift attendant were aunts of the bride Shari Lueking of Oxford and Brenda Misterek-Golter of North Platte, respectively. Cake cutters were Taine Fruit of Ogallala and Judy Stagemeyer of North Platte, both aunts of the bride, and Ginny Steinke of Ogallala and Peggy Goss of Parker, Colo., both aunts of the bridegroom.

The bride is an office manager at Two Rivers Public Health Department in Holdrege. The bridegroom is a civil engineer working for the Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District in Holdrege.
