TRENTON -- Henry James Hubl died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at Community Hospital of McCook at the age of 80.

He was born March 26, 1925, at Spring Ranch in Clay County, the son of Anton and Bessie (Sochor) Hubl. He grew up in the Lawrence area, where he received his education.

On June 14, 1950, Henry married Margaret Janda at Deweese, and they came to Hitchcock County where they spent their married life farming south of Trenton. They moved to Trenton in 1994.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, where he was a trustee for many years and a member of the Catholic Workmen.

In 1978, Henry was honored by the McCook Gazette as "Father of the Year." He took great patience and pride in repairing things large and small.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Anton "Tony" Hubl, Joseph "Joe" Hubl and two infant brothers; and one sister, Anne Hill.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hubl of Trenton; two sons, Larry Hubl and wife, Debra of Trenton and Daniel Hill and wife, Mary Jo of Imperial; three daughters, Jean Flannigan of Grand Island, Betty Brennan and husband, Paul of Grand Junction, Colo., and Deborah Tomlinson and husband, Steve of Centennial, Colo.; 13 grandchildren, Chris Tollman and husband, Kelly, Jessica Huddleston and husband, Aaron, Andrea Hubl and fiance, Tom Emmerling, Troy Flannigan, Aaron Brennan and wife, Kate, Sara Flannigan, Joe Hubl, Courtney Hill, Hailey Tomlinson, Anthony Hill, Nathan Hill, Luke Tomlinson and Isabel Tomlinson; two great-grandchildren, Brittany Tollman and Kascade Tollman; and relatives and friends.

Rosary will be Thursday, 7 p.m., at St. James Catholic Church in Trenton. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2005, at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. Val Bartek officiating. Interment will be in St. James Cemetery in Trenton.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home in Trenton, which is in charge of arrangements.
