TRENTON -- Arthur "Art" Duckworth, 92, died Tuesday (Sept. 27, 2005) at the ElDorado Manor Home in Trenton.

He was born Feb. 28, 1913, in Saskatchewan, Canada, to Benjamin and Metta (Fry) Duckworth. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1931.

He married Bernice Opal Owens on Dec. 31, 1935, in Oberlin. The couple farmed southeast of Trenton until retiring to McCook in 1982.

He was a private pilot.

He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in McCook, the Culbertson Masonic Lodge, the Tri States Amateur Radio Club and MARCS.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice in 1998; one brother, Jim Duckworth; and one sister, Ruth Nealeigh.

Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Cushing and husband, Erwin of Stratton; two sons, Benjamin Duckworth and wife, Barbara of Lavonia, Mich., and Ronald Duckworth and wife, Linda of Estes Park, Colo.; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tom Duckworth of Glenview, Ill., John Duckworth and wife, Betty of Florida and Stan Duckworth and wife, Evelyn of North Platte; and relatives and friends.

Services will be Saturday, 2:30 p.m., at the Evangelical Free Church in McCook with the Rev. Bruce Lester officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.
