OBERLIN -- Harold Frickey, 94, died Sunday (July 31, 2005), at Decatur County Hospital.

He was born March 24, 1911, at Blackfoot, Idaho, to John H. and Lizzie (Pauley) Frickey. When he was five, the family relocated to a farm in Center Township in Decatur County. He attended Center School and Decatur Community High School.

On May 25, 1930, he married Fiona "Onie" Davis in Norton, Kan. They lived in Oberlin, McPherson, Kan., and Rifle, Colo., eventually returning to Oberlin.

He was a farmer.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in McCook.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, "Onie," a daughter, Marilyn Mines; and six siblings, Sam, Dwight, Woodrow and Wendell Frickey, Fern Gaumer and Naomi Branvold.

Survivors include two sons, James and John, both of McPherson; a daughter, Judy Martin of Hutchinson; a son-in-law, Keith Mines of McPherson; a brother, Norton Frickey of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Lela Huff of Denver; 13 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation is Thursday. 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and will resume at 8 a.m., Friday continuing until the time of the service.

Memorials may be made to the Cedar Living Center or the Decatur County Ministerial Association.
