Helena and Brian Perks

INDIANOLA -- Helena Helm and Brian Perks were united in marriage March 5, 2005, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with the Rev. Nicholas Baker officiating.

Parents of the couple are James and Yanis Helm of Danbury and Terry Perks of Bartley and Sandra Schwab of McCook.

Grandparents are Helen Helm of Cambridge, Efreen B. Rojas of David, Panama, the late John Helm, the late Rosa Santiago de Rojas, Marlin and Letha Perks of Stockville and Sid and Judy Allen of McCook.

The bride wore an A-line gown with tulle over matte satin with a chapel train. The tulle was accented with Alencon lace, pearls and beads and had lace bell sleeves. She wore a rhinestone tiara and a tulle veil. She carried a bouquet of white long-stemmed roses, baby's breath and burgundy carnations. The bridegroom wore a black tuxedo with a navy blue vest and bow tie.

Maria Downer of Bartley, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaid was Angie Flesner of North Platte. They each wore a burgundy, floor-length satin dress. They carried bouquets of long-stemmed white roses with navy blue satin ribbon.

Eric Morris of Danbury was the best man. The bridegroomsman was Matt Lucas of Chadron. The bridegroomsmen wore black tuxedos with navy blue vests and bow ties.

The flower girl was Kelsey Schwab of McCook, sister of the bridegroom. She wore a dress similar to the dresses worn by the bridesmaids.

Caleb Sughroue of Bartley served as the ring bearer.

Ushers for the ceremony were Jaime Helm of Danbury, brother of the bride, and Aaron Edwards of North Platte, cousin of the bridegroom.

The candlelighters and altar servers for the ceremony were Aaron Helm and Jacob Helm of Norcatur. The lector was Raymond Haag of Bartley. The acolyte was Steve McConville of Bartley. Crinda McConville of Indianola was the organist. Sam Stritt of Bartley was the vocalist. Jennifer Hoard of Cambridge served as the guest book attendant.

The reception was at the Cambridge Community Building in Cambridge. The host couple was Mike and Shelly Slaba of North Platte. Jackie Delany of Kempner, Texas, Boni Edwards of North Platte and Ceanne Rinehart of Colby, Kan., were cake servers. Amber Edwards of North Plate served as gift attendant. The cake was created by Julie Vrbas of Palisade.

The couple honeymooned in Sedona, Ariz.

The bride is a teacher at Fieldside School in Gordon. The bridegroom is working for the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission in Crawford.

The couple is making their home in Rushville.
