LINCOLN -- Larry Mihm, 66, Lincoln, formerly of Indianola, died Friday (May 20, 2005), at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln after a courageous year long battle with cancer.

He was born to Clarence and Alma (Coburn) Mihm on April 24, 1939 in Indianola, Neb. He graduated from Indianola High School in 1957 and McCook Community College in 1959. He worked at Gierharts Shoe Store and McCook National Bank. In 1976 he began farming until 1984. He enjoyed many hours in his woodworking shop.

He married Betty Sayer on May 26, 1962 at St. Catherine's Church in Indianola.

He was a member of Knight of Columbus and member of the National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.

Survivors include; his wife of 42 years, Betty of Lincoln; sons Todd and wife, Traci of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and Chad and wife, Linda of Omaha; his mother, Alma Mihm of Indianola; two sisters, Linda of Kimball, and Lorette Tillemans and husband, Joe of Hastings; four grandchildren Claire and Catherine Mihm of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and Morgan and Tanner Mihm of Omaha.

Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Indianola with Father Nicholas Baker officiating. Internment will be at St. Catherine's Cemetery in Indianola.

Rosary will be today, 7 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.
