Gerald R. Shaw

SELDEN, Kan. -- Gerald Rex Shaw, 72, died Thursday (April 8, 2005) at Citizen's Medical Center in Colby, Kan.
He was born April 3, 1933, in Phillips County, Kan., to Ernest and Anna (Pavlicek) Shaw. He was raised on a farm west of Selden. He attended Rielly School, Selden Grade School and graduated from Rexford High School in 1951.
On Nov. 30, 1966, he married Myrtle Lee Stevens in Hoxie, Kan. He was a farmer and rancher.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 348 of Hoxie, Masonic Lodge of Atwood, Grand York Rite No. 68, Isis Shriners of Salina and the American Legion Post No. 321 of Selden.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna Rowlison; parents; and infant sister, Jerrie Joyce Shaw.
Survivors include Myrtle Shaw of Selden; two sons, Richard and wife, Nikki Rowlison of Jennings and Ricky Rowlison of Ukiah, Calif.; three daughters, Pat and Dennis Sharp of Dighton, Vicky and Kelvin Sulzman of Oakley and Wanda Schritter of Goodland; twin brother, Tex and wife, Charlene Shaw of Selden; sisters, Doris Jean Oliver of Rexford; uncle, Donald Shaw of Selden; aunt, Carol Shaw of Selden; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services are Monday, 3:30 p.m., at Golden Plains Grade School Gym with the Rev. Brad Herndon officiating. Interment will be in Selden Cemetery.
Visitation is Sunday, 1-8 p.m., and Monday, 8 a.m.-noon at the funeral home in Selden.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
