Lorene Agnes Malleck, 94, died Thursday (Feb. 17, 2005) at Community Hospital in McCook.

She was born Oct. 21, 1910, at Indianola to John Walter and Lena (Reiners) Weskamp. She attended rural school in Red Willow County.

On Jan. 17, 1929, she married Charles LeRoy Malleck at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook. They made their home on a farm near Indianola. A few years later they moved to a farm near Imperial and later moved back to the McCook community. Lorene moved to McCook in 1983. She was living at Hillcrest Nursing Home at the time of her death.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Altar Society. She was also a member of the Better Aims Extension Club and a card club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Malleck on Feb. 10, 1972; son, Darrel Malleck on Nov. 7, 2002; three brothers, Griff, Ernest, and Archibald Weskamp; sister, Bernadine Switzer; grandson, Christopher Malleck and twin great-grandchildren, Casey and Tracey Malleck.

Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Malleck and wife, Nita of McCook, Gene Malleck and wife, Marjorie, of McCook, Robert Malleck and wife, Marilyn of McCook, Archie Malleck and wife, In Suk of Killeen, Texas and Loyce Malleck and wife, Marilyn of Denver, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Lois Malleck of Amarillo, Texas; one brother, John Weskamp and wife, Mildred of McCook; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial is Saturday, 2 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is today, 3 p.m. until 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friends may go online at www.carpenterbreland.com to extend condolences.

Rosary is today, 6:15 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
