BEAVER CITY -- Vivian L. Goins, 73, died Sunday (Feb. 13, 2005) at Phelps Memorial Hospital in Holdrege.

She was born Aug. 28, 1931, to Virtus and Joycie (Vise) Helton in Wilsonville. The family moved to a farm south of Beaver City in 1935 and moved into town in 1937. She graduated from Beaver City High School in 1948.

In 1949, she married Veryl E. Harding in New Mexico. The couple moved to Beaver City to make their home. He died Sept. 13, 1965.

On Sept. 23, 1967, she married James Goins in North Platte. He died Jan. 26, 1998. She worked with the ASCS office in Beaver City for 42 years, retiring in 1992. She spent a short time in Norton, Kan., and returned to Beaver City Assisted Living two months ago.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; infant brother, Virtus; and sister, Bonnie Strickland.

Survivors include her son, Bradley and wife, Christy Harding of Norton; two sisters, Belva Aspedom of Beaver City and Lelia and husband, Don Adams of Arapahoe; and three grandsons.

Services are Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with Keith Theobald officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Beaver City.

Visitation is Monday until 8 p.m., and Tuesday, 9 a.m.-8 p.m., at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to the services Wednesday at the church. Condolences can be left at www.wenburgfuneralhome.com
