Ella Peterson, 93, died Thursday (Jan. 13, 2005) at Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was born July 9, 1911, to Oliver and Esther (Lundquist) Johnson in Lund, a community of Decatur County. She was raised on a farm in Lund and attended Swede Home School.

On Feb. 18, 1931, she married Adolph Frederick "Fred" Peterson in Colby, Kan. She was a homemaker and later worked at Campbell's Clothing Store, Zimmerman and Ray Jewelry Stores.

She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Peterson on Jan. 26, 1973; parents; two brothers, Clarence and Delbert Johnson; and one sister, Rosella Johnson.

Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Jean and husband, Duane Berry of Grand Junction, Colo.; sister-in-law, Edla Olson of Oberlin; two grandsons; and four great-grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 2 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church in Oberlin with the Rev. Charlotte Strecker-Baseler officiating. Interment will be Oberlin Cemetery in Oberlin.

Visitation is Sunday, 1-9 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin and Monday, 10 a.m., until service time at the church.

Memorials may be given to the church or Decatur County Good Samaritan Center.
