GRANT -- Lois Bishop, 75, died Friday (Dec. 10, 2004) at her home in Grant.

She was born Aug. 14, 1929, to Samuel and Anna Jader Ferguson in Hamlet. She grew up in Palisade and graduated from high school in 1947. She attended Kearney State for two years before starting her career in teaching.

She married Harold Bishop in California in 1950. She taught elementary children in Wilsonville, California and Japan when her husband was stationed there during his service. She returned to Ogallala in 1962 where she taught second grade until her retirement in 1991. She moved to Grant in 1994 where she lived with her daughter, Lori.

Survivors include three daughters, Lori Zeilinger of Grant, Brenda Glinn of Ogallala and Libby and husband, Donn Gengenbach of Grant; four sisters, Clarice Bauer of McCook, Twila Carter of Palisade, Joyce Coe of North Platte and Joan Laumann of Sterling; and four grandchildren.

Services are Monday, 10:30 a.m. (MST), at Grant United Methodist Church with the Pastor Sally Ruggla-Haden officiating. Burial will be in Palisade Cemetery at 2 p.m.
