Elizabeth and Matthew Grummert

BENKELMAN -- Elizabeth Jones of Omaha and Matthew Grummert of Lincoln were united in marriage June 26, 2004, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman with the Rev. George Matthews officiating.

Parents of the couple are Bobby and Rita Jones of Benkelman and Mark and Linda Grummert of Jansen.

Honored guests were Betty Deyle and Marilyn Jones of Benkelman, grandmothers of the bride, and Gladys Salisbury of Beatrice, grandmother of the bridegroom.

The bride wore an Oleg Cassini, white, strapless gown with an A-line skirt and an apron back. The bodice was adorned by an organza inset with beaded metallic embroidery. Her veil was fingertip-length, white, netting. It was held in place by a tiara. She wore elbow-length gloves. She carried a crescent cascading bouquet of red roses, white calla lilies and green ivy.

The bridegroom wore a single-breasted black tuxedo with a white vest, red necktie and red rose boutonniere.

The maid of honor was Jana Marco of Doniphan. Bridesmaids were Keli Dasher of Elkhorn, Megan Schneider of Thornton, Colo., Nicole Hardwick of Benkelman, Michelle Grummert of Lincoln, sister of the bridegroom, and Melissa Wickens of Bloomington, Ind., sister of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids each wore a floor-length, two piece, red, satin gown with soutaching. The fitted bodice had spaghetti straps.

The bride's personal attendant was Adrienne Ham.

The best man was Kurt Pohlman of Omaha. Bridegroomsmen were Sasho Becvarovski of Crown Point, Ind., Russ Hochstein of North Attleborough, Mass., Matt McGinn of Anselmo, Joshua Jones of Humphrey, brother of the bride, Brad Wickens of Bloomington, Ind., brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and honorary bridegroomsman was Beau Stone of San Diego, Calif. The bridegroomsmen each wore a single-breasted black tuxedo with silver vests, silver neckties and red rose boutonnieres.

The flower girls were Colby Duvel of Max and Emily Jones of Benkelman. They each wore white, floor-length gowns of organza and satin. The bodices were beaded and had spaghetti straps.

The ring bearer was Talon Little of Lincoln, cousin of the bridegroom. He wore a single-breasted, black tuxedo with a white vest, white necktie and red rose boutonniere.

Candlelighters were Cheri Pribyl and Melanie Clark, both of Omaha.

Ushers were Mitch Ebke of Scottsbluff, Korey Nevitt of Hickman, Brandon Quindt of Omaha, Jake McKee of Omaha and Brad Dexter of Omaha.

The guestbook attendant was Lindsey Harrison of Colby, cousin of the bride.

The soloist was Nickole Sis of Benkelman. She was accompanied by the Christner Family String Quintet of McCook.

The lector was Matt Deyle of Alma, cousin of the bride.

Wedding coordination and flowers were provided by Lori Balke of Beatrice.

Photography was provided by Jeff Grummert of Deshler, cousin of the bridegroom.

The reception was at the American Legion Hall in Benkelman. Host couples were Stan and Phyllis Jones of Benkelman and Bruce and Beth Tegtmeier of Jansen. Reception servers were Carol Grummert of Fairbury, Barbara Maatsch of Lincoln, and Jean Pearson of Columbia, Mo., all aunts of the bridegroom, Cathy Harrison of Colby, Kan., and Mary Deyle of Imperial, both aunts of the bride, and Nikki Bowen of Hutchinson, cousin of the bride.

The couple honeymooned in Maui, Hawaii.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Dundy County High School in Benkelman and a 2004 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Kearney Alegent School of Radiography with a bachelor of science degree in radiation science. She is attending the diagnostic sonography program at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

The bridegroom is a 1996 graduate of Fairbury High School and a 2000 graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. He is employed as a pharmaceutical representative with Eli Lilly in Lincoln.

The couple lives in Lincoln.
