Raymond Willmann, 88, died Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at Community Hospital of McCook.

Raymond was born March 25, 1916, at Cheyenne, Wyo., to George and Amelia (Amen) Willmann. He attended St. John's Lutheran School, was confirmed and became a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Culbertson.

Raymond entered the U.S. Army on April 1, 1942, and served during World War II in the European Stage. After his honorable discharge on Dec. 10, 1945, he returned to the Culbertson community and started farming which he dearly loved. He also enjoyed playing cards and had a great sense of humor which will be greatly missed. He was a life-time member of the Culbertson Veteran's of Foreign Wars.

In August of 1948, he married Marie Rehn at Culbertson. She preceded him in death in March of 1988. Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Evelyn Schafer and Elsie Summers; and one brother, Harry Willmann.

Survivors include his sister, Geraldine Johnson of Berthoud, Colo.; sister-in-law, Pauline Jones of Trenton; special friend and caregiver, Pauline Hagemann of Culbertson; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Memorials may be given in his name.

Graveside services will be at the Culbertson Cemetery Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, 2:30 p.m., with Pastor Randy Wahl officiating. There will be an Honorary Military Committal. Burial will be in the Culbertson Cemetery.
