Wilma Lenore Cohen, 90, died Friday (June 11, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.

She was born Dec. 2, 1913, to Harry and Mabel (Kain) Rees in Wallace. She graduated from Wallace High School in 1932.

On Oct. 23, 1938, she married Eugene Cohen in Wallace. In 1951, they moved to a farm south of McCook. She was living at Willow Ridge Retirement Community at the time of her death. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She was also a member of DAR, AARP and Community Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene Cohen on April 15, 1993; one sister, Evelyn Stransky; and two brothers, infant Harry Lee Rees and Howard Rees.

Survivors include her son, Stanley Cohen of McCook; daughter, Teresa Helmick and husband, David of Roseland; two sisters, Betty Berry of Los Angeles, Calif., and Irma Petersen of Chicago, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial is Tuesday, 9 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerel Scholl officiating. Interment will be in Morningview Cemetery in Wallace.

The rosary will be recited today, 6:30 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Chapel.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the Arthritis Foundation.
