Gerald William Geihsler, 74, died Friday (June 4, 2004) at Community Hospital of McCook.

He was born July 16, 1929, to Harold and Sophia (Kircher) Geihsler in Palisade. He grew up in Palisade and McCook, where he attended high school. He entered the Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict.

On Oct. 30, 1953, he married Rose Howard in Ardmore, Okla. They moved to McCook where they spent their married lives farming south of McCook.

He was a member of the VFW and the Eagles Club.

He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Darlene Geihsler on Jan. 11, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Rose of McCook; two sons, Eugene Geihsler of Indianola and Kevin Geihsler and wife, Roxann; one daughter, Rosetta Jensen and husband, John, all of McCook; two brothers, Harlan Geihsler and wife, Ann of McCook, Burdette Geihsler and wife, Gleannis of Benkelman; one sister, Burdean Melchert and husband, Alfred of Stratton; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at Herrmann Memorial Chapel in McCook with the Rev. David Gosnell officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in McCook.

Memorials may be given in his name and friends may call at Herrmann Funeral Home from 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
