Frances (Ring) Lyons

LINCOLN -- Frances (Ring) Lyons, 83, died Monday (May 24, 2004) in Lincoln.

She was born in a sod house in Hayes County.

On Feb. 11, 1941, she married LaVern Lyons at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayes County. The couple farmed in Hayes County until 1964 and farmed in Saunders county until 1969. They then moved to Lincoln. She worked at Lincoln General Hospital and Bryan Hospital with 20 years of services in the medical records department.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Fred Ring; two brothers, Clarence Ring and Allen Ring; sister, Wilma Browning; and grandson, Noel Lyons.

Survivors include her husband, LaVern; five daughters, Alice and husband, Ron Parker of Centennial, Colo., Iris and husband, Roger Winkelhake of Lincoln, Mary and husband, Dr. Howard Pachman of Omaha, Jennifer and husband, Bob Robinson of Lincoln and Regina and husband, Maj. Doug Twyman of Lansing, Kan.; five sons, Fred and wife, Penny of Issaquah, Wash., Bob and wife, Jane of Annandale, N.J., Bill and wife, Ginny of Colorado Springs, Colo., Richard and wife, Wilda of Lincoln and Bernie and wife, Ginger of Waverlyn; one sister, Ardyth Exby of Montrose, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services are Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. John's Calvary Church in Lincoln. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited today, 7 p.m., at Butherus, Maser and Love Chapel in Lincoln.

Visitation is also today until 9 p.m.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. John's Catholic Church.

Butherus, Maser and Love Mortuary are in charge of the arrangements.
