Frieda Meininger

LINCOLN -- Frieda Meininger, 94, died Saturday (April 4, 2004) in Lincoln.

She was born March 4, 1910, to George and Lizzie (Gies) Dietz in Culbertson.

She retired in 1975, after 18 years as a clerk for J.C. Penny's

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Friendship Sunday School Class, Electa Chapter 8, Order of Eastern Star, she was a past Noble Grand, a member of Vesper Chapter 375, Rebekah Lodge, Harrington Encampment Auxiliary 138, Bethany Women's Club, AARP, Koinonia, Does BPOE of McCook, and a volunteer for Lincoln Senior Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reinhold "Ray" Meininger; six brothers; one sister; and granddaughter, Kathy.

Survivors include daughter, Marian and husband, Dale Walters of Lincoln; son, Gary and wife, Betty Meininger of Fort Worth, Texas; sister, Esther Duffy of Trinidad, Colo.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services are Tuesday, 1 p.m., at Roper and Sons Mortuary in Lincoln.

Visitation is today, 2 p.m., and until service time at the funeral home. Family will greet friends today 6-8 p.m.
