LINCOLN -- Ola Wauneta Cable, 86, died Tuesday (March 2, 2004) at Bryan LGH East in Lincoln.

She was born May 9, 1917, to Frank and Estella (Sawyer) Blake in Maywood.

On Nov. 13, 1945, she married Leo Joseph Cable. The couple made their home on a farm in the Indianola and Bartley area. In 1952, they moved to a farm near Arapahoe and farmed until their retirement in 1967. They then moved to Norton where she was employed at the Norton State Hospital as a licensed mental health technician for 15 years. She was living in McCook at the time of her death.

She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Prairie Pal Club, VFW Auxiliary and Ladies DAV. She volunteered at the St. Patrick's Bargain Bazaar.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Estella Blake; husband, Leo; brother, Cyrus "Orval", Harvie, Oliver "Bud" and Richard "Otto" Blake; and three sisters, Ona "Evalena" Fisher, Clarissa Fritsche and Tracy Mullen.

Survivors include her son, Daryl Cable and wife, Fay of McCook; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial is Friday, 10 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in Fort McPherson Cemetery in Maxwell, 2 p.m.

The rosary will be recited today, 7 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home.

Visitation is today until the rosary.
