Etna Mae Stone Gransbury

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Etna Mae Stone Gransbury, 75, of Nevada, Mo., died Saturday (Nov. 29, 2003) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo., following an illness of several weeks.

She was born July 16, 1928, in McCook to Charley Milton and Joanne Etna (Bailey) Thornley. She was raised in McCook. She spent a large part of her life in Vernon County, Mo. She worked in the nursing department of the Nevada State Hospital for 24 years. She retired in 1986.

On Oct. 30, 1945, she married Dick Stone in McCook. He preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1984.

In 1985, she married Arthur Gransbury in Nevada. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 1995.

Survivors include four sons, Dave Stone and Leslie Stone, both of Milo, Mo., and Harry Stone and Terry Stone, both of Nevada, Mo.; 34 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Services are Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Moore Cemetery in Nevada.

Friends may call until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, 7-8 p.m.

Memorials may be given in her name to the charity of donor's choice.
