Harriet A. (Long, Carlock) Brunswick

GREELEY, Colo. -- Harriet A. (Long, Carlock) Brunswick, 80, died Oct. 26, 2003, at Greeley Medical Center in Greeley, Colo.

She was born April 11, 1923, to Ira J. and LaVella B. Long in Haigler. She was raised in the Haigler community. She graduated from Haigler High School in 1940.

On May 18, 1940, she married Marvin L. Carlock. To this union five children were born. The couple lived their married life in Haigler, Wauneta and Stratton. Her husband died Feb. 25, 1975. She moved to the Saint Francis Community where she worked in health care for several years.

On Aug. 19, 1981, she married Harold Brunswick of Haigler in Goodland, Kan. For the past 22 years, the couple lived and worked at the Brunswick Ranch, north of Haigler.

She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Marvin Carlock; and two brothers, Ira J. "Ike" and Stanley Long.

Survivors include her husband, Harold; two sons, Stanley and wife, LeNeta Carlock and Marv and wife, Mary Ann Carlock; three daughters, Cheryl and husband, Sid Raile, Sandy and husband, Junior Magley and Linda and husband, Russell Miller; three step-children, Dale and wife, Wanda Brunswick, Debbie and husband, Randy Bartlett and Diana and husband, Mike Chambers; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Services were Oct. 29, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Haigler. Burial was at the Benkelman Cemetery in Benkelman.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Dundy County Hospital Foundation in Benkelman.

Spellman-Schmidt Funeral Home of Wray, Colo., was in charge of the arrangements.
