Ruby Mae Post

TRENTON -- Ruby Mae Post, 101, formerly of Palisade, died Tuesday (September 11, 2001) at the El Dorado Manor in Trenton.

She was born Aug. 9, 1900, in Richardson County, to John Milton and Laura Jane (Pearson) Roller. She graduated from Burchard High School in 1917.

On May 1, 1922, she married Samuel Marion Post at McCook. She lived most of her life in Palisade where she was a homemaker and a clerk for the U.S. Post Office for many years. She had been living at El Dorado Manor in Trenton since 1995.

She was a member of the Palisade United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel in 1979; one son, Verle Post; one brother, Frank Roller; and one granddaughter, Peggy Post.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Post and wife, Ruth of Denver, Colo., and Jerry Post and wife, Dorothy of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter-in-law, Mary Post of Palisade; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at the Palisade United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Laing officiating. Interment will be at the Palisade Cemetery.

Visitation is today until 8:00 p.m. at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Palisade United Methodist Church.
