Charlotte June (Pribbeno) Bilka

IMPERIAL -- Charlotte June (Pribbeno) Bilka, 73, died Tuesday (Sept. 18, 2001) at the Chase County Community Hospital in Imperial after a short battle with cancer.

She was born June 16, 1928, at Enders to Charles Wesley and Elma Lou (German) Pribbeno. She grew up on the family farm south of Enders. She attended elementary school at the country schools Prairie Rose and District 1. She attended Bob Jones Bible College for her junior year in high school, but her other three years were spent at Chase County High School where she graduated. She attended Doane College in Crete for one year.

On Sept. 25, 1948, she married Laddie C. Bilka. They worked together on the family farm in Enders until moving to Imperial in 1979. She lived there until her death.

She was active at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she held offices in the auxiliary, and local and state levels. She served on the Chase County Senior Citizens board, and was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary 3472.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Laddie; one brother, Charles, Jr.; one sister, Marcheta Jaeger.

Survivors include two children, Suz Ann and husband, Lester Harmon of Imperial, and Terry and wife, Nanette of Enders; one brother-in-law, Keith Jaeger of Imperial of Imperial; one sister-in-law, Viola Bilka of Anaheim, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, 1:30 p.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Imperial with the Rev. Greg Pawlowski presiding. Interment will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial.

The rosary service is tonight, 7 p.m., at the church. Visitation is today until 6 p.m. at Liewer Funeral Home in Imperial.

Memorials may be given in her name.
