Eldon Allen Shepherd

Eldon Allen Shepherd, 70, of McCook died Saturday (October 6, 2001) at his home.

He was born June 3, 1931, at Maywood to Lennie and Cecilia K. (Dueland) Shepherd. He graduated from McCook High School in 1948.

On Sept. 27, 1959, he married Marilyn M. Stevens at McCook. He lived in the area most of his life.

He was a member of the Memorial United Methodist Church, the McCook Kiwanis Club, and the Red Willow Sheriffs Posse. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marilyn on June 15, 1984; and two brothers, Cecil and Donald.

Survivors include two sons, Joel Shepherd and wife, Mary of Golden, Colo., and Clay Shepherd and wife, Linda of Seward; two daughters, Kathy Glazebrook and husband, Daniel of Papillion, and Sally Shepherd of LaVista; two sisters, Margurette Francis and husband, Kenneth of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Delia Kalinski and husband, Hans of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister-in-law, Velma Shepherd of Cheyenne, Wyo; special friend, Sherry Cotton of McCook; and 13 grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, 2 p.m., at the Memorial United Methodist Church in McCook with the Rev. Dr. Jeffery Thurman officiating. Inurnment will be at Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be given in his name.

Family and friends may sign the visitation book today and Tuesday 9 to 5 p.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook.
