TRENTON -- Jeremy Dean Hunkins, 17, died Thursday (Nov. 29, 2001) at his home in Trenton.

He was born Feb. 5, 1984, to Gary D. and Jeanne L. (Hanes) Hunkins at Benkelman. He had lived his whole life in Trenton. He was a senior at Lakeside Central High School and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jason; grandfathers, Henry Hanes and Clyde Hunkins; and a niece, Cassandra Eckhoff.

Survivors include his parents of Trenton; three sisters, Sandra and fiance, Troy James of Bird City, Kan., Lisa Draper of Bertrand and Kelly McCauley and husband, Lee of Trenton; grandmothers, Nina Oakley and Arletta Hunkins; friends, Larry Eckhoff of Benkelman and Michael Wright of Loomis; best friend, Brian Berry of Trenton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were today at 10 a.m. at the Carpenter Breland Funeral Home in McCook with the Rev. Fred Ricely officiating. Burial was at the Benkleman Cemetery.

Memorials are being accepted in his name.
