OBERLIN -- Audra E. Steinmetz, 89, died Sunday (Jan. 6, 2002) at Community Hospital of McCook.

She was born July 12, 1912, in Sherman Township, Decatur County, to Thomas J. and Betsey Jane (Plumb) Dimmitt. She was raised on a farm in Sherman Township and attended Sherman School. She graduated from Decatur Community High School in 1931.

On April 23, 1933, she married Samuel A. Stheinmetz in Oberlin and lived in the Oberlin area where she taught school.

She was a member of Rebekahs Lodge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Samuel Steinmetz; four sisters, Mildred Lytle, Dorthea Dimmitt, Lorus Johnson and Gwendolyn Beavers; and one great-grandson Thomas Fisher.

Survivors include one son, Samuel Thomas Stinmetz of Oberlin; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home of Oberlin. Interment will be at the Oberlin Cemetery.

Visitation will be today until 8 p.m., Tuesday, 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
