BEAVER CITY -- Pearl I. Gentry, 90, died Tuesday (March 5, 2002) at Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge.

She was born April 29, 1911 to Clarence and Ethel (Hutson) Eshelman at Fairview, Okla. The family moved to Beaver City in the early 1920's where she attended Beaver City Schools.

On Feb. 17, 1931, she married Everett Gentry at Oberlin. They farmed northwest of Beaver City and moved into town in 1975, before retiring from farming in 1979. She moved to the Beaver City Manor & Assisted Living in 1997.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Rebecca Lodge No. 62, and was a charter member of Grange all of Beaver City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 1994; step-brother, John Mayo; and two sisters, Pauline Houk and Florence McCoy.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Jim and Joyce Stratton of Beaver City, and Willis and Betty Lou Hunt of Hastings; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Mayo of Golden, Colo.

Services will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver City with Rev. Darin Bentzinger officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m. at Wenburg Funeral Home and prior to services Thursday at the church.
