Audrey Maxine (Penn) Weishapl

ATWOOD -- Audrey Maxine (Penn) Weishapl, 74, died Sunday (May 12, 2002) at the Rawlins County Health Center in Atwood.

She was born Aug. 23, 1927, to Finnis E. and Elsie (Patton) Penn in Parks. She attended grade school in Bird City and Atwood. She also attended Charles Denver Beauty School in Denver, Colo. She then worked at the telephone company in Atwood.

On May 21, 1946, she married Harold B. Weishapl. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Finn Penn, Jr.; a sister, Donna Brack; and her father and mother-in-law.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Atwood; her mother, Elsie Penn of Atwood; four sons, Bernie Weishapl and wife, Mary Ann of Goodland, Kan., Joe Weishapl and wife, Gwen of Rio Rancho, N.M., Steven Weishapl and wife, Debbie of Loveland, Colo. and Robert Weishapl and wife, Dorothy of Mulvane, Kan.; three daughters, Loretta and husband, Gary Hoffsetz of Derby, Kan., Mary and husband, Corky Chessmore of Atwood and Gloria and husband, Ernie Coleman of Washington, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards as the celebrant. Interment will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery at Atwood.

A parish vigil and Christian Mothers rosary will be said today, 7:30 p.m., at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Atwood.

Visitation is today until 9 p.m., and before service time at the chapel.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
