Dorothy Jean (Richey) Robinson

SUN LAKES, Ariz. -- Dorothy Jean (Richey) Robinson, 71, died Wednesday (May 29, 2002) at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1931, in Curtis to Jim D. and Martha Richey. She married Arthur Jensen, they lived in Remer, Minn. where she was a member of the Congregational Church and the PTA. She later moved with her family to the Minneapolis area where she was employed by Honeywell. In 1963, she became an Avon District Market manager which moved her to North Dakota. She remained in North Dakota until her retirement and marriage to her second husband, Harold "Robbie" Robinson. They moved to Littleton, Colo. and eventually to Tucson, Ariz. where they owned and operated PetroGas, Inc. In 1989 the business was sold and they returned to Curtis where she remained until Harold's death in 1995. Dorothy returned to Arizona in 1997, this time settling in the Sun Lakes area.

She is survived by her son, Larry Jensen and wife, Karla of Chandler, Ariz; her daughter, Cheryl Brodehl of Granville, N.D.; four grandchildren, Caley Brodehl and wife, Laurie, Nina Jensen, Pamela Brodehl, Annikka Jensen-Wasel and husband, Abe; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie Marie Amstuz; and several nieces and nephews as well as a host of friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold; her parents; her step-mother, Bertha Matheson; a sister, Cynthia Wederski; and two brothers, Jim D. Richey and Robert (Bob) Richey.

Dorothy became a member of the First Baptist Church of Sun Lakes June 23, 2001. She was also a member of the Fraternal Organization of Elks, a life member of the ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Frontier Rebecca Lodge No. 287 of Stockville, Frontier County Historical Society, National Rifle Association, Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant and Ladies Encampment Auxiliary.

Memorial services were held June 3, at the First Baptist Church in Sun Lakes and memorial services will be Monday, June 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Curtis. Inurnment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at 1:30 p.m.
