Dorothy Elizabeth Leibrandt Albers

Dorothy Elizabeth Leibrandt Albers, 77, died Wednesday (June 12, 2002) at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

She was born May 7, 1925, to Walter John and Rosine Carolina Pauline (Breitling) Esch in Red Willow County.

On Jan. 12, 1947, she married Samuel Leibrandt at Ash Creek Lutheran Church. She later married Clarence Albers.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-mother, Emma Isaak Esch; her husband Sam, in 1969; infant daughter Vernice Marie; sisters, Alice, Gladys, Stella, Florance; and one brother, Earnest.

Survivors include two sons, Vernon Leibrandt and wife, Yoshiko of McCook and Gerald Leibrandt of Omaha; five daughters, Vera and husband, Elmer Kasselman of Larned, Kan., Phyllis and husband, Fred Zachary of Guthrie, Okla., Charlene and husband, Dennis Chancellor of McCook, Patty Novak of Omaha, Shirley and husband, Bill Dack of Danbury; two step brothers, Harold Esch and wife, Melva and Vernon Esch and wife, Sara both of Indianola; two sisters, Betty Newton of English, Ind., and Carol Stumbaugh of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Saturday, 10 a.m., at Carpenter Breland Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Hofensperger officiating. Burial will be at the Ash Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Alzeimers Foundation or the Hillcrest Nursing Home in her name.

Visitation will be today until 5 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
