Ronald F. Drain

TRENTON -- Ronald F. Drain, 69, died Monday (Sept, 23, 2002) at his farm south of Trenton.

He was born Aug. 20, 1933, to George and Marion (Fassler) Drain at Culbertson. At an early age, Ron moved with his family to their farm near Trenton and he attended country school near his home. He later attended and graduated from Trenton High School.

On Dec. 20, 1953, he married Delores "Dude" Marie Steinke, and they made their home on their farm south of Trenton. In 1954, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, he returned to the farm.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1061, and a past member of the McCook Elks Lodge. He also served on the COOP Board, the Rural Fire Board, and the ASCS Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marion Drain.

Survivors include his wife, Delores "Dude" Drain of Trenton; daughter, Lisa and husband, Roger D. Lewis; sons, Kevin Drain and wife, Joni, Kim Drain and wife, Bev, Kyle Drain and wife, Linda, all of Trenton; sisters, Ardis Ibarra of Denver, Colo., Patsy and husband, John Pettera of Ludell; brother, Harlan Drain and wife, Fran of Sidney; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trenton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Daniel E. Spearow officiating.

Services will conclude at the church. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in his name.
