Mildred M. 'Mickey' Woofter

Mildred M. "Mickey" Woofter, 78, died Wednesday (Jan. 15, 2003) at Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis.

She was born Aug. 9, 1924, at Steele City, to Edward S. and Jessie (Carter) Davis.

She was educated in McCook and Culbertson schools. For many years she was employed by J.C. Penney in McCook. She was a former McCook resident and had been living at Sunset Haven Nursing Home in Curtis for the past five months.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Woofter; her parents; one brother and two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy and husband, James McCollum of Westminster, Colo.; a step-son, Robert McDonald of Enterprise, Ala.; one brother, Cecil Davis of McCook; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be Saturday, 2 p.m., at the Carpenter Breland Chapel with Jim Housch officiating. Burial will be at the Cedar Bluffs Cemetery prior to the service. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be given in her name.
