Vada Naomi Wolfe Groothuis

BOUNTIFUL, UTAH -- Vada Naomi Wolfe Groothuis, 88, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at Rocky Mountain Care of Bountiful, Utah.

She was born April 7, 1914, near Bird City to Sherman and Emma Rosella (Van Guilder) Wolfe.

On May 16 , 1937, she married Ed Groothuis in Culbertson. He died in 1991.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; nine brothers and sisters; and an infant son, Clinton.

Survivors include her children, Vivian Antonik of Norwood, Colo., Verlyn Groothuis of Twentynine Palms, Calif., and Carmen (Melvin) Stuart of Syracuse, Utah; one sister, Ruby Anderson of Wauneta; one sister-in-law, Loraine Groothuis of South Ogden, Utah; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, 11 a.m., at Myers Mortuary in Layton, Utah. Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah.

The family will meet with friends an hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Research program.
