Eunice Irene Petracek

OBERLIN -- Eunice Irene Petracek, 94, died Saturday (May 10, 2003) at the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin.

She was born Nov. 18, 1908, in Juanita, Colo., to Bruce and Netta (Wasson) Moore. She was raised on a farm near Dresden and graduated from Decatur Community High School in Oberlin.

On Dec. 19, 1928, she married Harry J. Petracek at her parents' home near Dresden. They lived on a farm near Jennings. She was a homemaker. She moved to the Decatur County Good Samaritan Center in Oberlin in the summer of 2001.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry on July 6, 1974; brother, Dem Moore; and sisters, Leta Larue and Bernice Wagner.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane and husband, Larry Urban of Norton, Kan.; a special son, Raymond Kraft and wife, Barbara of Waco, Texas; two grandsons; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 11 a.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin with the Rev. Glenn Krebs officiating. Interment will be in the Oberlin Cemetery at Oberlin.

Visitation is today until 8 p.m., and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
