Matilda 'Tillie' Romine

PALISADE -- Matilda "Tillie" Romine, 75, died Tuesday (May 20, 2003) at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte.

She was born June 20, 1927, to Exie and Laura Taylor Brown. She attended school in Palisade.

In 1947, she married Wayne Romine. They lived south of Hamlet on their family farm. They moved to Oregon in 1967, and she returned to the area in the early 1980's.

She belonged to the Eden Sunshine Club and was a past member of the Palisade Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Judy and husband, Tim Hendricks of Grant; a son, John Romine and wife, Kaye of Salem, Ore.; two brothers, Stan and David Brown; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Family memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Great Plains Regional Medical Center Dialysis Center.

Carpenter Memorial Chapel of North Platte is in charge of arrangements.
