NORCATUR -- Pearl E. Alexander, 89, died Friday (June 6, 2003) at the Decatur County Hospital in Oberlin.

She was born Sept. 23, 1913, in Fostoria, Kan., to Corrie and Maude (Abbott) Bowser. She spent most of her youth in the Oberlin area. She attended Vallonia Grade School and Decatur Community High School in Oberlin.

On Aug. 26, 1931, she married Glenn Alexander in Norcatur. They resided on a farm near Norcatur until 1954, when they moved to Norcatur. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the EE Club, both of Norcatur.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Howard Bowser; sisters, Ann Cook; Lily Brounaugh, Iva Eisenbach and Dorthea Guinn; and one grandson.

Survivors include her husband, Glenn of Norcatur; daughters, Maryllin and husband, Jay Locy of Norcatur and Beverly and husband, Barry Lintz of Syracuse, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were today, 10:30 a.m., at the United Methodist Church in Norcatur with the Rev. Brooks Koble officiating. Interment was at the Norcatur Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Norcatur Citizens Alliance or the Norcatur United Methodist Church.
