Victor 'Vic' F. Cahoj

ATWOOD -- Victor "Vic" F. Cahoj, 78, died Friday (June 13, 2003) at the Lutheran Home in Wakeeney, Kan. He was a resident of Bogue, Kan.

He was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Atwood to Mike and Olga (Stupka) Cahoj. He attended Atwood Schools.

On Oct. 1, 1946, he married Margaret Heble in Atwood.

On Aug. 27, 1994, he married Pat Erickson. He was a retired farmer and also raised greyhound dogs.

He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Hill City, Kan., Knights of Columbus No. 3033 of Atwood and the Catholic Workman No. 74 of Atwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Neal; a brother, Louis Cahoj; and sisters, Frances Sabatka and Hermina Cahoj.

Survivors include his wife, Pat of Bogue; sons, Fred Cahoj and wife, Marissa of Ecuador, South America, Terry Cahoj and wife, Alexandra and Rory Cahoj of Aurora, Colo., and Jeff Cahoj and wife, Mika of Alva, Okla.; a daughter, Nanette and husband, Stan Rice of Lakin, Kan.; two stepsons, Kyle Jones of Dallas, Texas, and Duce Jackson of Bogue; six grandsons; two granddaughters; and three step-grandsons.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, 10 a.m., at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church northwest of Atwood with the Rev. Damian Richards as celebrant. Interment will be at the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery of rural Atwood.

A parish vigil and rosary will be recited today, 7 p.m., at the Williams Funeral Home in Atwood.A memorial has been designated in his name to the Sts. Cyril and Methodius Cemetery Fund.
