TRENTON -- Denelda V. Hamill, 70, died Wednesday (June 25, 2003) at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

She was born Aug. 25, 1932, at Wauneta, to Donald and Vada (Petsch) McCollam. She grew up in the Eden Precinct at Wauneta. They moved to Trenton where she attended Trenton High School.

On May 26, 1950, she married Delmar Dewey.

On Jan. 2, 1981, she married Fritz LeRoy Hamill at Holcomb, Kan. Most of her life was spent in Southwest Nebraska and Northwest Kansas. She resided at Herndon for 14 years and was employed for 10 years at the Good Samaritan Home in Oberlin. For the past year she has resided at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Darrel in 1954; and two sisters, Joyce and Karen.

Survivors include four daughters, Sonya and husband, Doug Richey of Orlando, Fla., Diana and husband, Donald Solko of Herndon, Dena Dewey of Trenton and Darla Anderson of Hays, Kan.; two sons, Donald "Steve" Dewey and wife, Jackie of Hillrose, Colo., and Shad Dewey and wife, Jane of McCook; one sister, Carolyn and husband, Raymond Lopez of Fort Sumner, N.M.; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be Monday, 10:30 a.m., at the Trenton Cemetery at Trenton with Johnny Walker officiating. Inurnment will be in the Trenton Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her name and friends may sign the register at the cemetery.
