Mildred Weskamp

McCOOK, Neb. — Mildred Marie Weskamp, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, at Hillcrest Nursing Home in McCook, Nebraska.

Mildred was born on May 20, 1926, in Indianola, NE, to parents Fred H. and Anna M. (Kircher) Mihm. She graduated from Indianola High School with the class of 1944.

Mildred married the love of her life, John W. Weskamp at St. Catherines Church in Indianola on December 29, 1947. From this union, they were blessed with two children, Kathy and Tom.

Mildred was a homemaker. She was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was a past member of the St. Patrick’s Altar Society. She contributed her time and spirit to numerous church activities. Mildred delighted herself in solving jigsaw puzzles, traveling to new places, playing cards, great storyteller, and enjoying bowling.

Mildred’s life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family, faith, and community.

She is lovingly survived by her children: Tom and wife Brenda Weskamp of Hulbert, Oklahoma, and Kathy Housley of McCook, Nebraska. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Fred H. and Anna M. (Kircher) Mihm; her husband, John W. Weskamp; her four brothers, Albert, Clarence, Clifford, and Harold Mihm; and her son-in-law, Bruce Berger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested in her name to be designated at a later date.

The recitation of the rosary will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026, at 10:30am at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Lorenze as officiant. Inurnment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery.
