McCook Football League fun kicks off in just nine days
McCOOK, Neb. — Just a reminder the McCook Football League will be checking out equipment for their 2025 season on Sunday, July 6 at McCook Junior High School.
Players can register right up to that evening if equipment is avaiable from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The cost is $125 per player with both fifth-sixth and seventh-eighth being limited to 80 apiece.
“We are asking for parents and guardians to enroll their athletes as soon as possible so we may address equipment needs,” MFL director and McCook High head football coach Joe Vetrovsky said.

Practices begin on Monday, July 7, at the McCook High practice fields.
Practices continue each week night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. until the first official Game Night at historic Weiland Field on Wednesday, July 16.
The full-pads pracdtices begin on July 9 after those first two nights of helments only.
Game nights are set for July 16, 17, 18, 21, 22 and 23.
There will also be games made up on July 24 and 25 if weather disrupts the schedule.
Equipment will then be returned following those season finales.
All athletes from fifth through eighth grade in the southwest Nebraska region are invited to participate.
