MNB, McCook FCB teams take two from Imperial
IMPERIAL, Neb. — McCook National Bank’s first baseball game was worth the wait as Trey Tiller struck out 11 in an 8-2 Seniors win over Imperial Thursday night.
Tiller threw all seven innings, allowing just four hits and two walks.
The Seniors (6-5 record) overcame two early deficits and finished with seven unanswered runs.
Imperial did lead 1-0 on Tristan Jablonski’s RBI-single then 2-1 when Thomas Reeves hit into a fielder’s choice.
However, the Seniors took change behind leadoff stick Trenton Raile’s three RBIs.
Quentin Terry ripped two hits while proving to be a strong designated hitter.
Terry’s recovering from a football torn ACl but delivered the Seniors-best three hits Thursday evening.
Miles Pollsmann added another two hits to go with good MNB batting eyes that drew six Imperial walks.
Jablonski struck out five in five innings yet also allowed seven runs on eight hits. Only two of those seven runs were earned.
Gavin Wisneski delivered two of the four Imperial hits against Tiller.
The Seniors warmed up for what should be one hot weekend of home tournament action.
They welcome the Smith Center (an.) Blue Raiders tonight before playing three more contests on Saturday and Sunday at McCook’s Jaycees Complex.

Juniors
Meanwhile, the McCook First Central Bank Juniors reached 15 victories this season thanks to a 12-2 triumph over Imperial in Thursday’s first contest.
Kale Sattler’s three RBIs powered the attack with Asher Wilson, Abel Wilson, Bo Schlegel, Gus Smith and Ty Junker each ripping one hit for the 15-6 Juniors.
They also swiped 10 bases including Kooper Rakes’ theft of home plate. Junker and Jamie Samaniego stole multiple bases.
Cole Brock delivered some strong pitching where he fanned four in 2 2/3 innings.
