McCOOK, Neb. - Shari Ann McConnaha passed away in her home, in McCook, Neb. on June 13, 2025, at the age of 75.

Shari was born the second oldest of ten kids on Oct. 25, 1949, in Danville, Ill., to parents Russell H. and Wilma I. (Werner) Pilkenton.

In her professional life, Shari was a compassionate caretaker at the nursing home.

She loved to dance, go fishing, sewing, and live music. Shari was caring and supportive to her grandchildren and her animals, especially her dog Rylee. She enjoyed holiday meals, especially at Thanksgiving. She enjoyed going junking, thrifting and antiquing. Her family and friends will always cherish their memories with Shari.

Shari is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Cinda “Sue” Pilkenton, Crystal Pilkenton, and Patsy Mead; two brothers, Terry and Kevin Pilkenton; and sister-in-law Penny Pilkenton.

Those who will miss Shari deeply are her son Shawn Paulson of McCook, Neb.; daughter, Jodi McConnaha of Keystone, Iowa; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Jeff (Frances) Pilkenton of Fremont, Neb., and Rodney Pilkenton of Omaha, Neb.; sisters, Robin (Brett) Holloway of McCook, Neb. and Boni Myers of Fremont, Neb.; brother-in-law Bob Mead of Omaha, Neb.; sister-in-law, Paula Pilkenton of Omaha, Neb.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Memorials are suggested in Shari’s name to the McCook Humane Society, PO Box 13, McCook, NE 69001.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at the West First Chapel in McCook, Neb., with Johnny Walker officiating.
