McCook JV golf boys take first at Southern Valley invite

ARAPAHOE, Neb. — The McCook High JV golfers won a playoff over Holdrege to claim Thursday’s Southern Valley Invitational title.
Coach Ben Vetrovsky provided more details about these Bison:
“The Bison won the invite in a team playoff with Holdrege’s JV team shooting team scores of 350.
Asher Wilson led the Bison with a runner-up finish shooting a 84. Cruz McCarty was fourth with an 86, and Wyatt Benes also medaled shooting an 89.
Other Bison scores included Brody Anthony 91 and Lee Davidson 106.
“Great way to end the year for our JV team. The goal of the invite was to get four guys in the 80s and we were close to that goal,” Vetrovsky remarked. “Asher Wilson’s game has improved so much throughout the season and I am so proud of this effort.
Cruz and Wyatt also had nice days both bringing home medals. I look forward to seeing these guys at the golf course a lot this summer, continuing to improve their skills.”
