Larry Joe Fuller

Oct. 27, 1942 - April 4, 2025

ARAPAHOE, Neb. - Larry Joe Fuller, son of Kenneth and Myrtle (Ritz) Fuller, was born on the Ritz farm north of Wilsonville, Neb. on Oct. 27, 1942, and passed away April 4, 2025, at Kearney Regional Hospital, from heart failure.

In 1948, Larry started first grade at Wilsonville. Halfway through the year the family moved to a farm north of Lebanon, Neb., so Larry finished his first year in the Lebanon school and went on to graduate as salutatorian of his class of 1961. In high school he participated in football, basketball and track.

After high school, Larry farmed with his father for many years. In the winter, Larry would travel to Denver, Colo., to work in a filling station and then come back home to farm with his Dad in the spring. Larry quit farming and moved to Denver in 1970 working there for a few years before moving to Oregon in 1972. He worked for Kimsey Construction from 1972 through 1979, then staying in the construction field, he worked for LR Moyer Construction in Salem, Ore. While with Moyer Construction he traveled to Alaska for a one-time job returning, after five months, to Oregon. He made his home in Sublimity, Ore. and went to work for Emery and Sons Construction in 1984 and worked for them until he retired in 2009.

Larry made many friends in Oregon but Nebraska called him back home in 2011. Larry bought a home in Arapahoe and two trips from Oregon to Nebraska later, he was officially back home. He became a member of the Arapahoe United Methodist Church.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ramona Koch and Cheryl Fuller; brothers, Robert and Richard Fuller.

He is survived by his sister, Nanci Kimsey (Warren) of Stayton, Ore. and brother-in-law, Gilbert Koch of Eustis, Neb., several nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Larry enjoyed farm sales, helping at the food bank in Arapahoe and doing crossword puzzles. He did woodworking and made several pieces of furniture for his home. His greatest joys were visiting with family and friends, puttering around at Granddad Fuller’s farm north of Wilsonville, but most of all reading his Bible every morning and going to church to worship our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. “I will rise again to worship Jesus”.

Larry pre-planned his funeral arrangements with Lockenour-Jones Mortuary, of Cambridge, Neb. Respecting Larry’s wishes, there will be no service.

Memorials are suggested to the family of Larry Fuller for future designation. Online condolences may be left at lockenour.com.
