Linda Kay Fricke

CULBERTSON, Neb. - Linda Kay Fricke was born on April 1, 1943 in York, Neb. to Charles and Audrey (Chrisman) Gaver. She graduated from high school and later in life she continued her education, taking college classes as a senior citizen.

Linda was united in marriage to Don Ficke, Sr. on Dec. 26, 1960. The couple made a home in Culbertson, Neb. where they raised their family and ran the family business together; Linda was the bookkeeper. Linda also worked at Farrell’s Drug Store in McCook and helped at the Community Action Partnership.

Linda loved animals of all kinds. She also enjoyed gardening, crafts and card games. She and Don shared a passion for dancing as well as time spent camping and fishing together. Most of all, Linda loved to shop, shop, shop!

Linda passed away early Wednesday morning, March 5, 2025. She was 81 years of age

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Audrey Gaver; husband, Don Fricke, Sr. and daughter, LaDonna Rozmairek.

Survivors include her daughter, Vickie Shires and husband, Richard of Fort Worth, Tex.; son, Don Fricke, Jr. and Michelle of Elwood, Neb.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mathew and Adrea Fricke and their four children, Nicki and Tyler Rogers and their five children, Shelby Fricke and her three children, Lindsey Waller and her four children, Lexi Williamson, Kenzie Shires, Michael and Tori Williamson and their three children, Delton, Jonathan, Mikaiyah and Ariana; sisters, Carol Seals and husband, Fred and Terri Kidwell all of Nicholasville, Ken.; and brother, Mark Gaver and wife Elsa of Hemet, Calif.

Cremation was chosen and memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, March 8, 2024 at the New Life Fellowship Church in Culbertson, Neb. with Pastor Rick Bradley officiating.
