Trimmed up for school

Anna Powel, owner of Aphrodite Hair Design, gives a free back-to-school haircut at the Back-to-School Resource Fair. The Salvation Army started the resource fair, which has grown to include several organizations and numerous volunteers. This is the second year that the hair stylists from Aphrodite have participated in the Back-to-School Resource Fair. Powel says they gave about 70 haircuts at the Aug. 1, 2024, event. Aphrodite Hair Design recently moved to a new location at 106 E 2nd Street in McCook.
