BRAN 41 to roll through Southwest Nebraska
BENKELMAN, Neb. — Hundreds of bicyclists will roll through Southwest Nebraska June 4-10 as part of the 41st annual Bicycle Ride Across Nebraska.
The event begins in Benkelman with an 80.6-mile ride to the first overnight stop in Cambridge, followed by stops in Alma, Red Cloud, Hebron, Wilber, Seward and Ashland.
BRAN is a non-profit 501c3 organization that uses revenues for scholarships for high school students to attend Nebraska trade schools, colleges, universities or other post-secondary education.
Riders are fully supported with mechanical help, transport to Benkelman and even charging for electric bicycles.
The cost is $350 for a full week, $240 for a four-day ride, $180 for a three-day ride and $100 for a driver and vehicle.
