Falcons break through for first state football championship!

It required an instant replay review, but senior Drew Scott did break the goal line on fourth down for Hitchcock County's clinching touchdowns in the Class D-2 state final Monday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. Falcons celebrate (below) the Scott score which made it 22-12 with less than one minute remaining while Howells-Dodge faced its first defeat in 26 games. Hitchcock County was well-represe entded (second photo below) as fans saw their team finish a 13-0 champions' season. Senior Trent Kisker (last two photos at bottom) took a potential interception from this Howells-Dodge defender and turned into the go-ahead 45-yard TD pass and 14-12 lead. More details will be featured in Tuesday's McCook Gazette.
