Wall of Fame

McCook High School Principal Craig Dickes presents a plaque honoring Air Force Lt. Col. Dick Trail (Ret.) as the newest member of the McCook High School Wall of Fame. Trail said his desire to compete with “town kids” through better grades in high school served him well as a member of the first Air Force Academy class and his service as a pilot and flight instructor and in Vietnam and around the world. The skills he learned in his 25 years in the Air Force went on to enable him to continue public service as a County Commissioner and City Councilman, as well as in many service clubs and committees. He urged students to take advantage of the opportunities they have in school and beyond, and to consider joining the military. The Central Starz performed for a crowd of veterans treated to breakfast at Central Elementary as part of Veterans Day honors today.
