McCook Elementary plans Veterans Day ceremony Friday

McCOOK, Neb. — McCook Elementary School is extending an invitation to veterans to join them on Friday, Nov. 11, as it celebrates Veterans Day at McCook Elementary School.

Veterans Day is intended to thank and honor all those who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces and to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated. 

If you are a veteran or have a veteran in your family that would be interested in coming to school for a thank-you celebration, please arrive at 8:40 a.m.

The assembly starts at 9 a.m. to recognize all veterans.  After the assembly, veterans are invited into the library for coffee, cookies, and visiting.  This program is one way students can honor veterans and our country through civic engagement while helping our students understand, appreciate, and participate in honoring them.
