McCook coach competes term as NCA president

LINCOLN, Neb. — Matt Wiemers, a teacher and coach at McCook Public Schools, recently concluded his presidential term with the Nebraska Coaches Association.

Coach Wiemers has been a career long member of the NCA and throughout his involvement with the association, he has served as a sport host, a sport advisory board member, District V representative, executive board member and vice president.

Various duties performed throughout his stint with the NCA include: selection of all-star teams and coach of the year recipients, selection of sportsmanship awards, assisting with State Cheer and Dance competitions, and attending quarterly board meetings.

The shared collaboration between the NSAA and NCA, as well as the many relationships established with coaches throughout the state and nation have been personal highlights. The NCA thanks Coach Wiemers for his many years of service and leadership, as well as being an advocate to all coaches.
